| "Couleur" |
My first piece of the school year, "Couleur", was inspired by a summer assignment called "20 Variations". We had to choose an object and explore it visually in 20 different ways. My object was a wooden fan. It is evident that my final project is not of a fan, but the leaves integrated in this piece remind of a fan. I decided to use bright acrylic paints to contrast with the simple black and white charcoal background. To create the leaves, I put random amounts of paint on one side of a paper and then folded the paper in half, creating a symmetrical pattern on paint. Furthermore I cut the product in either a leaf-like form, or in its' original form.
