| "Colours and I" |
In preparation for this project, we visited several exhibitions to inspire our main ideas. We visited the Matisse and the Fauves exhibit, in addition to the Lucien Freud exhibit. To figure out what I wanted to do for this self portrait. I decided to list things that define me; such as my cultural background and my hobbies etc. Thus, I decided to create block-like figures in the background of my portrait to resemble CD cases stacked up. However, due to the visit to see works by Matisse and the Fauves, I was inspired to use brighter colors and to stay constant in color choice. In addition, I decided to take information from the workshop with Kamilla Szíj and used repetitive lines in the background.
